It’s Wednesday… We’re halfway there! Yesterday was National Wine Day; unfortunately I could not participate due to a late afternoon root canal. Guess I could have sipped wine through a straw?
Today I’m discussing eyeliner. In the past few weeks, several people (including strangers) have approached me to ask how I apply my liner… must be doing something right? I chronically suffer with puffy eyes due to an allergy to the state of Kentucky, and some days my eyeliner (and eye makeup) looks better than others.
As the saying goes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. This is how I apply eyeliner- there might be simpler ways. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, maybe it looks terrible, and maybe I’m an ahole. However, this is what works for ME and it only takes 30 seconds. It would likely look better if I had more time to get ready in the morning… but like most of you, I don’t.
I apply eye shadow beforehand (primer, eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara every day). I always use black liquid liner and don’t have a favorite brand, though I currently use Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner.
Apologies for the close up of my eye… I feel like a giant squid.
I start with a straight(ish) line close to the lashes then draw a “check mark” on the corner (picture in black and white because it makes the liner more visible).
I then draw another line to complete the outline of the shape. Obviously pre-mascara!
Disclosure: All pictures were taken on my iPhone in bad lighting. The only filters I used were the ones available in the picture app. As a makeup blogger I want to be as realistic as possible- real life isn’t “filtered” and neither am I.
