Happy Wine Down Wednesday! The last few days brought fantastic weather to Kentucky- unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. More snow in the forecast for us! I’m trying to stay positive because I know I’ll be complaining about the hot temperatures in no time.
I always welcome fall and winter clothes with open arms, but I’m ready to light my tights on fire… Maybe because my last viable pair looks like this:
One morning before work I went to Walgreens for Advil. Because I had time to kill, I perused the cosmetics aisle in search of a cranberry-red lipstick I saw on Pinterest. Apparently the lipstick I was searching for was discontinued (which pushed me over the edge), but, I am the worst impulse shopper on earth and bought something anyway. I picked up what looked like a cranberry-red lipstick under the fluorescent lights but is actually a deep or reddish-pink: Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick- Kate Moss Collection (in 006). I love happy accidents.
I normally don’t buy Rimmel London products because I haven’t had great luck with the brand. However, this lipstick was the closest shade to what I thought I wanted, and I took a chance. So glad I did! The color isn’t what I expected but gorgeous nonetheless. As I said, I would classify the shade as deep or reddish-pink. Perfect for spring! Per my research (conducted after my purchase), this lipstick received mostly positive reviews. The few who didn’t love it claimed it made lips flaky and wore off easily… I didn’t find that to be the case. If you moisturize your lips and/or wear lip primer, those complaints won’t be an issue.
If you’re on the hunt for a spring shade, I suggest trying the Kate Moss line. There are 10 budget-friendly (under $6.00) lipsticks in the collection, with colors ranging from nude to purple! You can go as bold as you’d like.
I’m apparently unable to take a decent photo today, so here’s a silly one of me wearing 006 (and my niece’s headband).
What lipstick shade(s) are you excited to wear this spring?
