Another hectic week is (almost) in the books. I slept terribly all week and am in the worst mood. Look out, world. This afternoon, we’re leaving for Missouri to attend the wedding of my best friend from high school. The reception is a masquerade ball- I know it will be a blast! I’m taking off work early so I can frantically clean the house before we leave… I cannot leave town and relax if it’s dirty. Please tell me I’m not the only one with this disorder.
What I loved this week:
We do the majority of our grocery shopping at Kroger because we have no other options. They’ve expanded their floral department, however, and have a large variety of affordable options. I try to keep fresh flowers in the house year-round; I feel it adds a pop of color and personality. This week, I bought two large bouquets for under $10! Both were “Manager’s Special” items but still look beautiful! And I finally jumped on the peonies bandwagon!
Talenti Gelato: We eat mostly clean during the week but both have a massive sweet tooth. I can usually curb it with a piece of dark chocolate, but not always! I’m no baker, so we’ll occasionally indulge in store-bought treats. A few weeks ago I bought Talenti Gelato in Sea Salt Caramel- and we’re hooked! We’ve since purchased Pistachio and Butter Pecan… All three flavors are delicious and the perfect treat for hot summer days! Talenti Gelato Sea Salt Caramel: Nothing compares 2 U.
I finally used my Sephora gift card… on boring products. I needed new moisturizer and Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream came highly recommended. I also purchased Rosebud Salve. I desperately want to love this product but it took me TWO DAYS to open. I wouldn’t let it defeat me. Why is everything so complicated?!
Do you ever throw a meal together quickly and make a dish so damn fantastic that you KNOW you could conquer the world? Last night it happened: I took one bag of frozen broccoli, spread it on a cookie sheet, sprinkled it with a bit of olive oil, honey, and garlic (all to taste), and cooked it on 425 for around 20 minutes. Delightful. It was more than enough for three people and was a huge hit! I thrive on stress-free and budget-friendly dishes.
