We arrived home Saturday night after a fabulous week long vacation. I honestly dreaded leaving the beach and returning to real life, but I’m thankful to have a life to which to return.
I always hate the first Monday back after time off, but instead of being grumpy today, I choose to be grateful. I think vacation is a great time to reflect on the good things in life. I remember my sorority sisters used to laugh at me for going home every weekend when we were in college. I wanted to go home because I genuinely enjoyed spending time with my family… and still do!
Life has been wonderful to us but has also taken us in different directions. We don’t live in the same house anymore (though we totally would!), so when we’re together, we make it worth it! I am beyond grateful for a loving, supportive family and that we were able to enjoy vacation together.
A few pics from our week:
We have vacationed in Hilton Head for over 15 years. Our family has expanded in that time, but it continues to be our favorite place. We stayed in a gorgeous house this year that had plenty of space for 8 adults, one toddler, and a wild boxer. We spent every day at the beach and went to some of our favorite local restaurants at night. And we possibly drank 1,000 beers…
First up: DIY headboard. Pinterest ain’t nothin’ but the devil.
What are you grateful for today?
