Linking up with Ashley from the Grits Blog for Little Friday!
We are now in the dog days of summer. Per usual, our heatwave began right as I started dreaming of fall (i.e., right after my vacation). And, like clockwork, the air conditioning in my Jeep stopped functioning… at least on the passenger side.
I am desperately trying to hold off discussing the “f” word. I think about fall year-round but don’t want to rush summer away. We are lucky in Kentucky (ha!) to experience all four seasons, though some occasionally wear out their welcome (I’m looking at you, winter 2014).
A few of my favorite end-of-summer products:
Essie Nail Polish in Canyon Coral: One last go-round with summery nail polish!
Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care: This product (which contains SPF 15), helped protect my lips during long days spent on the beach. My new go-to summer lip balm!
Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths: found in the deodorant aisle. I attended circuit class last night and had to drop my car at the shop immediately after. I was so embarrassed to be around anyone because I was sweating profusely. I remembered that I had a pack of these in my purse (hello, control freak!) and saved the day. The wipes are small enough to carry in your bag, help cool you down, and have a fresh scent.
Laura Geller Beauty Blush-n-Brighten Baked Cheek Color: Summer is about efficiency, and nothing is better than two products in one. I’ve had this for a long time, but I keep it around for the late summer sun-kissed look.
Klorane Dry Shampoo: I received this in August’s Ipsy Bag. My hair is fine and can be oily at the end of the day. I love this for nights when we want to go out after work, or if I need a quick refresh after a workout. I can’t rock two-day hair, but I’m sure it’d be great for that, too!
Harvey Prince Hello Fragrance : I’m a Chanel lady, but I tried this sample from August’s Birchbox and fell in love. It’s definitely a summer scent, intended “to mimic the joy of waking up to a warm day with the sun shining and the flowers blooming.” You get the picture.
Crack open a cold one and enjoy your air conditioning!
