I came back from vacation this week feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. Well. The world showed me.
No wireless connection. I bought a Roku several weeks ago with the intention of finally catching House of Cards and Mad Men (late to the party, I know). We have yet to watch one episode due to connectivity issues. This week I tried to catch up on Masters of Sex and You’re the Worst via OnDemand. No luck. Wednesday night we had no connection and I wasn’t able to finish my blog post… not even on my iPad. The definition of First World Problems. Our provider tells us that we’re watching during “peak hours” and bound to run into issues. I am taken back to the early 2000s and dial-up connection when my Instant Messenger suddenly shut down because my mom had to use the phone. It is 2014. Let’s find a better solution.
I ordered some fall candles during a sale at Bath and Body Works this week. I received my package yesterday, and, much to my dismay, one was shattered. I wish I would have known before I reached my hand down into a box filled with shards of glass.
Thieves. I don’t understand people who steal.
Mean people. I witnessed two people get berated this week. One was a stranger and one was a coworker… I wanted to hug them both. Why are some people so rude?
Wrong numbers and telemarketers. I am on the National Do Not Call Registry but continuously receive unsolicited phone calls. I’ve received several calls just this week from an Arkansas phone number. Jason is convinced it’s Bill Clinton. I hope he’s right. Speak up, Bill!
On a positive note, I also had my first experience with boxed wine this week. I received a coupon from BzzAgent for $15 off a box of Fish Eye wine. I bought the moscato and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Sometimes you just have to vent, right? No real problems, just annoyances. At the end of the day, there’s always Jesus, love, and wine. I’m thankful for all the good. Especially the wine.
What pushed you over the edge this week? How did you handle it?
