Earlier this week, I received an email from Loverly challenging me to come up with a delicious cocktail for a fall wedding or festive event. I’m not a big fan of mixed drinks as I prefer my bourbon straight or on the rocks, but, it’s cocktail season, and even I feel inclined to partake.
There are many celebrations this time of year; fall is a celebration itself! And even if you don’t have an event this weekend, drink to the fact that it’s finally Friday! Here are some ideas for festive cocktails for your autumn event:
1 part Fireball Whiskey
1 part Vanilla Vodka
4 ounces of apple juice
Pinch of cinnamon
Serve on the rocks.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Buttered Rum
Mix in saucepan and bring to boil the following ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
1 tablespoon pumpkin spice seasoning
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 tspn vanilla extract
2 cups of rum
1 1/2 cups of apple cider
1/2 cup of water
Serve in mugs. This would be great for a rainy, at-home movie night!

Caramel Apple Sangria
6 cups of apple cider
1 bottle of white wine
1 cup caramel-flavored vodka
Stir ingredients together in pitcher over ice. A great idea for fall parties!
The Great (Apple Honey) Pumpkin 4 ounces pumpkin ale (there are tons on the market) 4 ounces Angry Orchard Apple Ginger Cider1/2 ounce Wild Turkey American Honey
Serve over ice.
The Great Apple Honey Pumpkin is a tailgating staple for us, though we eventually go right for the Wild Turkey.
It’s bourbon season, and this blog ain’t called BOURBON, Lipstick, & Stilettos for nothin. Here’s my favorite way to mix it (even if it’s best served neat):
Bourbon and Ginger Ale (or Ale8 for you Kentuckians):
Simply mix to your liking over ice. I prefer just a splash of ginger ale, but some might prefer more. It’s a perfect pairing! Neither flavor overwhelms the other.
Cheers to the weekend! What are you favorite fall drinks?
