One more day, friends! I’m scrambling like a madwoman to finish a project at work but can’t wait to have a few days off. I’m heading home this afternoon to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my family; I’m excited to spend time with them and eat a delicious meal that I don’t have to cook!
Before I get into November favorites, I have some wine tips for your Thanksgiving dinner. My mom and grandmothers are all phenomenal cooks, and I thankfully don’t have to contribute food. However, Jason and I always bring the party: wine. I’m a Merlot lady, but I want something that complements the meal. Thankfully, via my Hello Vino app, I appear to be a wine connoisseur.
If you’re in charge of bringing the wine and want to seem classy by impressing your friends and family with your choices, here are a few common food pairings:
Ham: Pinot Noir or Pinot Grigio (for honey-baked)
Cornbread Stuffing: Pinot Noir
Sweet Potatoes: Rose’
Pumpkin Pie: Pouilly-Fuisse’
Apple Pie: Riesling
Now to the makeup. Since this will be my last post for the month of November (can you believe it’s over?!), it’s time for monthly favorites!
Snow Angel shower gel: This is more than I’d like to pay for shower gel, but it’s my new favorite. It smells clean and makes my skin smoother than normal. I shave with it, too, and my legs have never felt softer.
Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter: A lovely peachy highlighter; a must for holiday parties! It gives you a nice glow!
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer: I’m partial to my Maybelline under eye concealer, but this product blew me away. I received a sample of it in my Ipsy bag, but plan to buy the full-size once it runs out.
NARS Single Eye Shadow in Cairo: I’ve had this for a long time but recently found it at the bottom of my eye shadow bag. Such a waste! It’s a great color for everyone and it stays all day (color shown is not Cairo- it’s sold out everywhere!).
Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Shadow Base in Submissive: Another Ipsy bag find. I haven’t worn eye shadow primer lately, but this does a great job keeping my shadow from creasing.
Former monthly favorites:
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and long weekend! I am beyond grateful for each of you who take time to read and comment on this space- it’s such a bright spot in my day! Thank you for everything!
