I haven’t needed style inspiration much this season as we’ve said “no” to a lot of events… I’m 100 and often prefer staying home. We honestly overwhelmed ourselves the past few years with weddings, holiday parties, graduations, etc. and I spent a few Christmases in a row super sick. You can’t enjoy the season when you’re ill.
However, we’re making our annual trip to see a Christmas Carol next weekend, and of course to enjoy all of our Christmas festivities the following week. I love the opportunity to dress up, and it’s all about sparkle this time of year! I’ll be shopping my closet and sales for a few festive pieces to get me through the rest of 2014 (how did THAT happen?!).
Tulle skirt // Glitter flat // Leather dress // Gray drop-waist dress // Embellished dress // Feathered dress // Red bow dress // Sequin skirt // Sequin top // Sequin crop top // Tights // Lace tights // Black pump // Red pump // Gold platform pump //
The items from Old Navy are crazy inexpensive right now; the gray dress is only $12.00 and won’t bust your holiday budget! I love a high, sparkly heel, but included a sparkly flat for you ladies who don’t dig the stiletto. I pair everything with black tights from October to March, and, again, Old Navy comes through with a great price.
I tried to find some pieces that would work for those of us who prefer to dress modest… you can look sexy and beautiful without dressing like a Kardashian (even if you have a big butt, like me).
Do you have a go-to holiday outfit or piece?
