Finally Friday, guys.
We had 20 inches of snow dumped on us yesterday (or, as I like to call it, 3 million tons of white bullshit), and I’ve had a nagging cold for the past few weeks. I spent my snow day shoveling our driveway so I can get my Jeep out for work. Can you tell I’m in a bad mood?
To boost my spirits, here are wonderful things I’m excited about this month (March, remember?):
March Madness. Sorry if you’re not a University of Kentucky fan, because I get real dirty this month. I actually love all of the games- there’s something thrilling about busting brackets… unless someone beats UK. Shudder. The entire state goes nuts for the next few weeks. Myself included. Good luck out there, college basketball fans. And GO BIG BLUE.

St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s weekend is actually mine and Jason’s 7th anniversary. We of course went on our first date St. Patty’s weekend. We celebrate with green beer, basketball, the parade in Louisville, and good times. I hope it’s warm next weekend!
National Reading Month. I need to read more. It’s always been my favorite thing to do, but lately I haven’t had time. I guess spending the last few months creating and obsessively editing a 600 page document 10 hours a day, doesn’t leave desire or eyesight to read for pleasure. But I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and I’m ready to pick up a few books. Any suggestions?
Getting Outside. I love walking and feeling the sunshine and I’m in desperate need of Vitamin D. One can only binge-watch Netflix so much. And it’s time to fire up the grill… soups are great, but let’s get fresh fish and veggies on the menu.
Spring. Spring clothes. Spring cleaning. Spring forward. Bring it on. I can’t wait to open the windows, get some fresh air flowing, and deep clean my house. Few things make me happier. I ordered a couple of dresses from Old Navy this week (below) and can’t wait to kick off my tights and boots. I know: “Florals, for spring? Groundbreaking.” Can’t you just smell the warmer weather?!
*In all seriousness, while I’ve complained a lot recently, our state did take a major hit: two historic snowstorms (and flooding) in two weeks. We’re not equipped for it. Motorists were trapped overnight on one of our major highways, and some towns have been without water for two weeks. Kentucky is resilient but a lot of people could use our prayers!
How was your week? What are you excited about in March?
