Remember the episode of Friends when Ross and Rachel lock themselves out of the apartment with baby Emma inside? Rachel flips out, thinking of every dangerous situation imaginable: “What if she jumped out of the bassinet?” “What if a bird flies in?” “Did I leave the oven on?” That is me on a DAILY basis.
I’m a control freak. I like to be prepared for any and every situation. That’s how life works, right? Humor me. What’s a control freak to do? For P, I’m discussing my purse essentials.
I fill this Michael’s clearance section bag to the brim with goodies.
If you thought I only carried a few things around… you don’t know me at all.
Items I always keep on hand:
Oil blotting sheets
Pressed powder and blotting sheets are must-haves for me because my skin is super oily. Our office is humid and some days it seems like my makeup melts right down my face. I also am a fan of keeping a travel-size dry shampoo in my bag. I occasionally walk or take a trip to one of the thousand area Mexican restaurants on my lunch break and my hair picks up every scent. Dry shampoo is always a good idea.
Birchbox and Ipsy send lots of purse-appropriate products, like the mini Laura Gellar blush pictured above. We went out to meet friends after work last week and I struggled to workout and shower in time to meet them for dinner. I reapplied my makeup in the car (J drove) and was happy to have the blush to add a pop of color. I also love the BareMinerals travel-sized Mineral Veil (isn’t the brush the cutest?!) for touch-ups on the go!
I change products out from season to season: this summer I’ll add sunscreen, refreshing wipes, and probably deodorant. I occasionally carry hairspray during the winter for static and tears in pantyhose.
Being on the go a lot caused me to think ahead.
What do you carry in your purse? Any must-have products?
