I am super behind this week; work took over (as it sometimes does). The good news is that I turned in my project Thursday night and it will be released to the public Monday morning! I have worked on it non-stop for two years and I’m grateful it’s finally finished. This week was not kind to me- between work, allergies, eye issues, and the air going out in my car (third year in a row!), I think it’s time for wine. And a new car. Definitely time for a new car.
I told J earlier this week that I was proud of my work project (an extensive, 500 page user manual). I had to troubleshoot many of the issues myself and find workarounds in order to release it to thousands of people. I’ve worked in communications but never completed anything of this magnitude… and I’m thrilled at what I accomplished. But after patting myself on the back, I admitted to him that I felt terrible about bragging. Why? We beat ourselves to death over everything… shouldn’t we celebrate when we kick ass?
Carissa shared a hilarious post this week about things she’s giving up on learning how to do and it made me think of all the things I’m giving up on because I can’t win: curling (or styling) my hair, folding a fitted sheet, organizing my cabinets, and managing my time. I focused on all the things at which I don’t excel, so today I want to share some things at which I do:
Cooking fajitas. I may burn everything else, but my fajitas are the bomb.
Cleaning the house. I am a freak, but there’s always lines in my carpet.
Working hard. I’m a huge asset to any workplace because I bust my ass.
Fixing things. I’m the “handyman” in our house. Broken drawer? Busted printer? I’m your (wo)man.
Finding deals. I NEVER pay full-price for anything. Ever.
Being punctual. I’m Type A. We expect nothing less.
Perseverance. I do not give up easily. If ever.
Making cocktails. I make the BEST drinks. My secret is adding more booze.
Today I also want to introduce you to some wonderful ladies. I have worked with the most amazing women since accepting sponsorships, and this group is no exception. While reading through their blogs to get to know them better, I realized what a strong, talented, and unique group of women they are, and I’m so grateful they’re choosing to work with me. Please check them out… you won’t be sorry!
