How was your week? I am glad it’s over. My outrageously expensive Beachwaver curling iron, that I’ve only had for two months, stopped working this morning. That should teach me. I’m ready to treat myself to some pumpkin beer tonight; what about you?
Joining some fun linkups today for the first time in months!
I ordered a few new(ish) products from Sephora and am pumped to use and review them: Sephora brand’s Black Magic Makeup Remover Cloths and Sleeping Masks. Both products have been featured everywhere lately- I had to see what all the fuss was about! My skin is in major need of TLC.
I ordered an Erin Condren planner this week. I debated between that and the planner from Plum Paper, but ultimately chose Erin Condren because I could get the rest of 2015 and all of 2016 in my bundle. I’m excited to get on track!
Have you watched Wet Hot American Summer? My siblings and I were (are) obsessed with the 2001 movie. Of course we knew none of the stars at the time, but fell in love with comedy… We still quote it today. Luckily, everyone from the movie agreed to make a Netflix show! All of the original main cast (Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, etc.) returned, and the show has been littered with the best guest stars, like Kristen Wiig, John Slattery, Josh Charles, and, most importantly, my boyfriend Jon Hamm. If you have a weird sense of humor and aren’t easily offended, give it a go. You won’t be sorry.
J and I are not overly romantic, but this week he “stole” my car while I was at work and had it detailed. I got in my car after work and some things were moved around- I thought someone tried to steal my new book of stamps (because that’s logical). I then noticed how CLEAN it was and summoned up all my brain power to realize what he’d done. All the heart eye emojis. It was a wonderful surprise and nice to know he thought of me. But he better not get too comfortable: I’m going to keep him in check by surprising him with a a one-person rendition of Leather and Lace next time we’re out with friends.
Pumpkin and Bourbon Season
I am always excited for fall but this year I’m apprehensive: remember last winter? That’s right behind. Two twenty inch snow storms within a few weeks scarred me for life. Fun fact: one of our neighbors flew a drone over our driveway while I shoveled it. So… I’m not ready. This week we had a taste of fall due to cooler temperatures. On crisp mornings you can smell the sour mash (used in the bourbon distilling process) in Frankfort, and it’s been strong this week. You know you’re in Kentucky when you can walk out your front door and smell bourbon. Thanks to my Kentucky Mule, it’s bourbon season year-round, but I love mine neat and it’s just not the same in 90 degree weather. I also discovered yesterday I had a pumpkin beer hoarded away in our booze fridge. Oh, how I’ve missed my old friend.
I have been the worst this week because of my work schedule and sinus infection. First, I strong-armed Kristin into writing a post for me (which turned out beautifully). Second, I was not on top of things- it’s hard to work from your phone during the day. So in case you missed it, here are some beautiful and helpful posts from my favorite ladies:

I’ve been thinking of migrating since January. I’ve bugged Anne to death over it. Have you migrated? What was your experience? Did you lose your followers on Bloglovin’? What happens to my followers on GFC? Can I keep my domain? Are you self-hosted? So many questions, so little time. It’s a big commitment and I can’t even decide which shoes to wear each day. What do I need to know? Please send help.
How was your week? Any WordPress advice for me?
