Yet another month has passed. I’m not too sad to see August go- it didn’t start off on the best foot and it’s been a rough ride ever since. After last year’s horrendous winter, I swore I would never wish for fall again. But here we are. The weather has been cool and I’ve got pumpkin beer on the brain. I ordered some tights, a new dress, and two pairs of booties this week in anticipation. I’ve done a lot of stress shopping this month…
Anyway, here are my monthly favorites (and one not-so-favorite):
Stila Perfectly Poreless Putty Perfector: I wanted to get my hands on this product as soon as it was released. I have not been disappointed. It’s a bouncy, airy, matte foundation and I’m a smidge obsessed. If you desire light, buildable coverage, you need this product. I’ll be doing a full review on it in the future.
YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer: I received this free from Influenster and wasn’t super excited at first. But then I used it. A primer is a primer, right? Not necessarily… This is expensive, but there’s a good chance I’d buy it again.
Sephora Sleeping Masks: I want to give these little boxes of heaven to everyone I know. Each box is filled with a mask with active ingredients: there are masks for anti-aging, moisturizing, firming, clear skin, and radiance. Each box is $4 but I’ve used the complexion one at least five times. You get your money’s worth.
Orly Nail Polish in Risky Business: A clearance impulse buy. I’ve never used Orly but the color caught my eye- it’s the perfect late-summer pink!
And a NOT favorite:
The Beachwaver. A lot of people sing its praises, but I have not been impressed. The fact that it twirls is wonderful but my hair holds curl better with my Hot Tools iron. It could be the humidity but when I’m spending a lot of money on a product, it should work! I’ve had the Beachwaver for only three months and it stopped twirling. I did have a warranty on it but, in order for the company to even LOOK at it, I have to ship it with a check for $15, and then they’ll decide if it’s actually something they’re willing to fix/replace. NEVER AGAIN.
Former Monthly Favorites:
So friends, what were your favorite products this month? Anything I need to try?
