Happy Friday, friends! Can’t believe we’ve made it through September! October is my favorite month so bring it on!
This week was much better than last. I spent the weekend with my family which means I’ve been super behind this week, but it was worth it! Ulta and Bath and Body Works more than made up for the shipping mishaps last week- good customer service is hard to come by, and I will continue to do business with companies who respond accordingly.
I’m changing things up this month: instead of just sharing beauty favorites, I’m going to share other things I loved, too (a la Becca, and others).
Obviously my favorite thing this month was buying a new car! When my Jeep got stuck going up a hill on my way to work Friday, and I had no air on my way home that night, I knew it was time to make a move. I woke up on Saturday morning determined to come home with a new ride. When I pulled up at the dealership another couple was checking out my Pilot. No, girl! I had to let everyone know it was my car and when I drove away I turned the air on frigid just because I could.
My new Starbucks cup. I ran to Starbucks for a gift card (and the new fall drink) and came away with a cup that perfectly encapsulates my personality:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold Brow Kit: I wanted to try DipBrow but found a great deal on the powder set. The color is perfect for me and I love the gel and brush, too! A few women who work at Ulta told me I had great eyebrows and I have Anastasia to thank!
Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Sin and Midnight Cowboy: I’m not a huge fan of eye shadow palettes because I never like (or use) all the colors, but I love the variety of shades from Urban Decay. I picked up two more during their two-for-one sale a couple of weeks ago. Great pigmentation and they stay all day!
MAC Lipstick in Russian Red: Worth the wait. I fall more in love with this lipstick every day. It’s the perfect matte, bluish-red. Sorry about the lighting (and my workout clothes) but I couldn’t get my DSLR to take a picture of me? It hates me? Anyway, her I am after work and three cups of coffee and countless glasses of water. My lipstick stayed in place all day.
Hot Mama blush: I’ve had this product for a long time, but rediscovered it after my Orgasm started running low. It’s a shade lighter than Orgasm but still a gorgeous, shimmery, pinky-peach hue.
And, here’s one of my favorite ladies! Working with Sarah from Coffee & Glitter has been such a pleasure. She blogs a little about everything: blogging, recipes, wedding planning, and beauty tips, specifically! Take it away, Sarah!
Hi Bourbon, Lipstick and Stilettos readers! I’m Sarah and I blog over at Coffee&Glitter.
Give us your elevator speech and tell us about your blog! What makes your blog unique?
C&G is a lifestyle blog that I started a little less than a year ago. Fun Fact: I started blogging three years ago with a teaching blog, Juice Boxes&Glitter (glitter is kind of a big deal around here) however, due to some unfortunate events, I have since taken some time off from teaching. I really fell in love with blogging so I decided to start a new blog as to not bog down my teacher friends with unrelated lifestyle stuff. Thus, C&G was born. C&G is literally a ‘whatever’ blog. I feel that this makes it unique. I think it is funny when people ask me to ‘categorize’ my blog as it is a bit of a melting pot from recipes to beauty tips, to everyday life around here. I see this blog as my little piece of the internet to be free and express whatever I wish.
What is your must-have beauty or skincare product?
Fun Fact #2… I am never good at these types of questions because I always cheat. I am going to give you two answers. (#sorrynotsorry)
1. Maybellines Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation-holy smoothness on my skin
2. MiaRay Fiber Wig mascara-false lashes in a tube y’all!
both of these, you can see here. I have repurchased both several times and they are lifesavers.
What is your favorite memory?
hands down, getting engaged at the Grand Canyon in June! See that, here.
talk about magical.
Do you have any blog projects in the works? Care to share?
I do actually! As you saw above, I posted a youtube video.. I am working on becoming a more “rounded” blogger. I would like to start incorporating more vlogs into my weekly posts. I think it will give C&G a more ‘real’ feel! I am also thinking about starting my own facebook promo group for bloggers-but that is in the very early stages of thinking as I am aware of the time it takes to admin one!

Thanks for reading! I hope to see you around C&G soon!
