Hello and happy Friday! How was your week? I need to catch up on sleep this weekend as I didn’t sleep at all Monday or Tuesday night (for no reason). I put myself to bed at 9:30 Wednesday night and slept really well until J busted in the bedroom at 11:30 saying he thought someone broke into the house. I always thought I’d be more helpful in this situation, perhaps grabbing the bow & arrow out of the closet and pulling a Katniss, but alas, all I could do was lie there. Naked and afraid. Turns out he must have heard something in the kitchen as he fell asleep on the couch, but I couldn’t sleep the rest of the night nonetheless.
There was also a slight tantrum on Thursday over not being allowed to purchase more Zyrtec D at Walgreens. If you’ve ever suffered with allergy and sinus issues, you know this is a big deal. So I am ready for the weekend. Let’s recap:
If you participated in the Fall Swag Swap, don’t forget the linkup is Thursday! I can’t wait to see all of your fall goodies!
As you may know, I’ve been struggling with breakouts the past year. I’ve done a lot of online research instead of seeing my dermatologist because private insurance is expensive and tricky. The primary trouble spot is my chin. Research tells me chin breakouts are caused by hormone imbalances and I have no reason to doubt the internets… I also sleep with my hand on my chin all night which no doubt plays a part. And I’ve been doing a big skincare no-no: exfoliating more often than I should. So, I’ve made some changes, tried some new products, and am happy to say I’m breakout free!
Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser: I’m the last person to jump on this train. After Nadine told me her dermatologist recommended it, I scooped up one of my own. I use this almost every night. Because you need to wash your face every night!
Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash: I’m an exfoliating addict. Thankfully I’ve cut it down to twice a week with this gentle cleanser.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty: I love this product. I use it about twice a week and believe it’s helped clear up my breakouts. It’s gentle and non-drying.
Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum: Because of its strength, this is meant to be used every other night. I love how it’s brightening my skin!
Mario Badescu Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream: the area around your eyes is super delicate and prone to dryness. Everyone needs an eye cream and this luxurious, yet non-greasy formula is a great place to start.
Philosophy Take a Deep Breath: I’ve discussed this before but I loved using the lighter formula this summer. We’re almost finished with the bottle so I’ll be purchasing a heavier moisturizer soon!
Sephora Sleeping Rose Mask: I am obsessed with the little Sephora masks and the moisturizing benefits of the rose product are unparalleled. All of the masks are gel-based and are just as they sound: you apply them to your face before bed, and let the product go to work as you sleep! If you want to treat yourself to something small, check out the rest of the collection!
I like to touch base when I’ve updated my routine. What skincare products are you using now? Let me know if there’s anything I need to try!
