I’m a firm believer in writing what you want. It’s your space and to keep it worth your time, you should always do what feels right. If you try to remain consistent but lack inspiration, you may run into times where you could use some blog prompts. Today Anne and I are discussing post ideas.
Here’s the thing for me: I agree with Nina in that posts are recycled. Nothing is new under the sun though, right? There are going to be a lot of holiday-themed posts in the next month. How do you stand out? I think you can stick with prompts if you remember to be yourself. Share YOUR voice, not what you think other people want to read. Anne and I post on the same prompt every Wednesday, and while I find it interesting that we’re often in sync, I love how we share our own ideas in our own voices. It’s okay to have individual thoughts.
With that being said, there are times we all need prompt ideas. Here’s some topics for when you’re in a blogging rut:
Your favorite holiday tradition
Favorite recipe (you could link up with Brittany and I in a couple of weeks with a Christmas cookie recipe! More details to come.)
A decor tour
A Christmas-themed DIY
Entertaining and party planning ideas
Your go-to products
Your skincare routine
What’s in your makeup bag
What songs would be included on the mix tape of your life?
Most embarrassing moment
What’s going on in your life currently
Your favorite dessert or drink recipe
What are you passionate about?
Your opinion on a current event
Share some of your favorite posts from other bloggers
Help out others by discussing blogging tips or things at which you excel: SEO, managing social media, creating images, blog design, etc. Who doesn’t love an informative post?
Creating an editorial calendar
How to manage sponsorships
