Happy Friday! We survived. I was going to write about the importance of voting but it’s the weekend and I want to keep it light. You’re welcome.
I’m off work today because my sister is in town and we’re throwing her a bridal shower and bachelorette party tomorrow! I’m going to pretend like I’m in my twenties until I wake up with my thirty-something hangover Sunday morning. Can’t wait to share pictures next week!
Our Netflix stopped working. We’ve been on LONG support calls with both Netflix and Roku and have yet to resolve the issue. WHAT WILL WE EVEN DO.
We had a bad Election Day in Kentucky Tuesday. I may have cried. I am too emotionally invested in politics. But J bought me wine and chocolate for my troubles.
After all that, I felt like a casual, just chat post was in order:
New Hair Tools
My $12 blow dryer finally bit the dust. I don’t spend a lot of money on styling products, but saw this awesome deal at Ulta and had to participate: Hot Tools is offering a free styling item with any $49.99 Hot Tools purchase! I bought this dryer and received a straightener free! Two quality hair tools for $50?! It’s too good to pass up! I am also vowing to never purchase cheap heat styling tools again- with my old, cheap dryer, my hair was hot to the touch. Like it burned my hand. That can’t be good for my fine hair. The Hot Tools dryer does not scald my hair and is still effective. My hair looks and feels healthier already. I felt compelled to share this unbelievable deal.
It’s the holiday season and it’s important to note that you do NOT need an apostrophe in order to make your name plural. Shudder. It IS okay (and correct) to say “Merry Christmas from the Smiths!” This article nailed it because my Facebook feed has already been inundated with this grammatical error.
I read a lot of posts, and a few really spoke to my soul this week:
Real Talk: Marriage, Babies, and Family from Hodges Podges: Who the hell defines family, anyway? This is something I have personally experienced and I’m glad to know I’m not alone.
The Only Way I Can Keep Blogging from Flowers In My Hair: Nina perfectly articulates what has been swirling around in my head the past few months.
Unconventional Therapy: A Haunted House from Hands on, Pants Off: This post is a beautiful commentary on relationships, and although it’s from last week, it has not left my mind. We’ve been in the same boat lately and I just love this so much.
The beginning of a new month means I get to work with a new crop of lovely, talented women. A couple of these blogs are new to me and I’m thrilled to get to know them better! Isn’t it amazing how many talented, creative women make this world go round?
