Happy Monday, friends. Isn’t that gross to hear after a long holiday weekend? And am I the only one who gets a little sad after Christmas? I was ready for it to be over after the craziness of the past few months, but now I wish we could do it all over! I’m joining Ember Grey for A Grateful Heart Monday because if there’s every a Monday I needed an extra dose of gratitude, it’s today!
We really had the best week and enjoyed a much-needed break from blogging and social media. I took off Wednesday so I could enjoy a night out with friends Tuesday night. I maybe had too much wine…
Wednesday J and I went to lunch and picked up plenty of festive spirits!
Christmas Eve we had brunch with my parents and our annual Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange with my paternal grandparents and cousins. My cousins and I take turns reading the story of the birth of Jesus from Luke. It’s one of my favorite traditions!
My niece was just a LITTLE excited about her new Barbie car!
Christmas morning we woke up early to open gifts, and, most importantly, to see my sweet niece get her gifts from Santa! She had the best day playing with all of her new toys while the adults ate good food, enjoyed mimosa punch, and played a few rounds of games!
One of us had too much champagne…
Santa listened to my wishlist and came through! I got a few of the books listed in my books for bloggers post and can’t wait to get inspired! I also got a food processor- please send me your favorite recipes! I have some ideas but always love hearing from others.
We unfortunately came home Saturday… I could have stayed with my family forever! But, I am sick AGAIN and didn’t want to share it with everyone. The one gift I’d like to return is this new round of bronchitis and sinus infection. We relaxed for the rest of the weekend, especially since it poured for two days. Thankful for another short week ahead!
I received many great gifts, but, I am just grateful I was able to spend time with my family and friends. I’m grateful we’re all healthy and happy and that we enjoy spending so much time together. I’m grateful I am able to see Christmas through the eyes of my niece, who hugged and thanked each of us for her gifts, even though we told her they were from Santa! I’m grateful UK beat Louisville. And, I’m grateful I am able to go back to work today, even though it will be rough! 😉
How was your weekend? Hope you all had the merriest Christmas!
