Happy Friday, friends! Today I am choosing to be positive even though it was a crappy week. On top of some really tough stuff, our garbage disposal broke and the washer AND dryer are going out. But, isn’t that life?
Blate: I finally met the amazing Sheryl from How to Make a Life! We went to dinner and had the best time. I swear it’s like we’d known each other for years! If it weren’t a weekday, I would have stayed out later. Sheryl is good for the soul and got my week off to the best start.
The People Vs OJ Simpson: I have been obsessed with this case for 20 years. I remember watching it with my mom when I was in elementary school, and my teacher let us watch the verdict. I 100% believe he is guilty, but the show tries to remain unbiased. I fact-checked the first episode and there were only minor erroneous details (added for drama, because the story isn’t dramatic enough). Most of the cast performances are top-notch, though I was weirded out by John Travolta’s campy portrayal of Robert Shapiro. We haven’t had a good show to watch since The Affair, so I was especially excited for it to start. And Marcia Clark is my spirit animal: hot-headed, opinionated, and ballsy. Sarah Paulson rocked the performance. Anyone else watch it?
Michael’s purchases: I am loving all the gold trinket boxes floating around online but have not loved the prices! I found this at Michael’s for $20 and was able to use a 40% off coupon on it. Win! I also picked up these Kate Spade-inspired push-pins for a couple of bucks. They had the cutest stuff!
Ulta haul: I had to stop by Ulta after work yesterday (twist my arm) to pick up a few more items for a swag swap I’m participating in and bought a couple of things for myself (of course). After reading Becca’s post, I had to purchase the Ombre Blush from NYX in Sweet Spring. The picture does not do it justice (thanks, early sunset) but I LOVE the pop of pink! I also found these adorable note cards on a clearance rack.
Milani Cosmetics: I JUST tried Milani for the first time. We don’t have a CVS in our town so I picked up a few products while I was home over the weekend. I bought two lipsticks and the baked blush, and honestly, I wasn’t impressed. I’m going to give them another try but I think I’ll stick with NYX! What are your thoughts on Milani? Any products I should try?
How was your week? Try anything new? Have a wonderful weekend!
