Happy Monday! Still playing catch-up… only two weeks now. Joining Biana for Weekending!
Instead of resting and working this weekend, we stayed out of town. I had a meeting Friday morning in Louisville and spent some time browsing the mall after it was over. J drove up to meet me for lunch and SEC Tournament viewing. We made the wrong decision going to Buffalo Wild Wings: they couldn’t find the SEC Network and served me molded pretzels. Never again!
J booked us a hotel so we could go out Friday night. We checked in, changed clothes, and set out to find a place to watch the games. We went to several locations to find the SEC games which I found surprising. Finally we met up with friends and watched the UK game! This fan wasn’t too thrilled…
I’m 30 and too many beers, lack of sleep, and no food ended our night pretty early. I just can’t hang like I used to!
We had planned on going home Saturday, but the weather turned around and we decided to stay for the St. Patrick’s parade. We met friends for brunch and went to the park to walk while we waited. After not eating for most of the day Friday, I was pumped for a BLT, grits, and a mimosa!
We met more friends at a restaurant to watch the parade and took the most garbage picture of all time:
Poor lighting and lack of sleep make us look like we were hit with the old person filter on Snapchat. 🙂 We finished watching the parade and found a bar playing the UK game.
Aftermath of the parade:
Our friends invited us over for dinner and, because we were so tired, decided to stay the night with them. I was in bed by 10:00!
We woke up early Sunday morning and finally drove home. I cleaned all day, especially around game time! Our house gets a deep-clean during tournament season: I cleaned the Keurig, scrubbed the floor, and did two loads of laundry while avoiding the tv! Thankfully it ended with a UK win, becoming SEC Champions for the 29th time! I (and the entire BBN) was disappointed in our tournament draw: a 4 seed after beating the 3 seed Texas A&M for the SEC Title… makes little sense, but that’s March Madness for ya. We ended the night with House of Cards and filling out our brackets. I’m pretty competitive so we’re betting on this one! Looking forward to a (hopefully) slower week.
How was your weekend?
