Happy Friday! I am so glad this week is over. Anyone else?
May is going by so quickly… Since Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, I thought I’d share some budget-friendly products you’ll want to pick up before the hot weather hits. It’s actually only going to be in the 50s here Saturday so we might have some time!
I love perusing drugstores for new makeup. There’s a Walgreens across the street from my office, and one of my favorite treats is to stop in and check out products on my lunch break. I’m in summer mode and picked up a few things to get the party started:
Wet n Wild Mega Glo All-In-One Highlighting Stick: this is a creamy, shimmery highlighter stick that is similar to The Multiple by NARS. I never use the word “dupe” because people have very strong feelings about it. I wanted to buy The Multiple in Orgasm to substitute as blush this summer, but I think I’m going to stick with this product in Light Up My High-biscus. I’ll post a review on these soon, but, they’re pigmented, smooth, and under $5! Plus, the packaging is perfect for summer.
Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer: I’ve seen this product on every blog this spring, and I can attest to its greatness. I’ve used it the past month and love the smoothness and how easy it is to blend. As a fair-skinned gal, I struggle to find bronzer that isn’t too dark for me… but this is as close to perfect as I can get. Also, it smells amazing! It definitely lifts my spirits as I’m getting ready for work in the morning. It’s like I’m sipping coffee on the beach.
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Correct & Cover Pink Grapefruit Moisturizer: this is a tinted moisturizer with salicylic acid which aids in clearing breakouts. I prefer wearing tinted moisturizers or BB/CC creams in the summer instead of piling on foundation… it will melt off anyway! And my skin is currently going through some stress/hormone-induced breakouts, so I need all the help I can get!
CoverGirl Super Sizer Fiber Mascara: while this isn’t necessarily a summer product, my blonde eyelashes need a bit more mascara this time of year. I have fallen in love with fiber mascaras, and can’t wait to see how this product stacks up to the competition!
Sinful Colors Neon Collection in Neon Tonight and Bright to the Point: these are hard to find online (and apparently came out last summer), but I found them in my Walgreens. I’m a huge Sinful Colors fan – they’re super inexpensive, long-lasting, and sell a vast array of shades. I prefer SC to Essie.
Have you tried any of these brands? What are your favorite summer products?
