Happy Friday! Is everyone already on vacation? I thought of taking off today, but I of course have two meetings. Why?!
We don’t really have plans this weekend. My family is going to visit my sister in Highlands and the weather here is supposed to be stormy. I wish we were going, but after lots of unexpected expenses this month, and two trips on the horizon, we’re going to sit this one out. We may meet up with friends Saturday, and I may try to go to my parents for some pool time Sunday, but otherwise we’ll be watching the new season of Bloodline!
Let’s get to it:
Plugged In Curling Iron: when I got my hair done earlier this month, my stylist used the best curling iron. I asked her about it and she said she bought it when her expensive curling iron stopped working and she needed a new one in a hurry. She spent $10 on it and it has lasted several years! Naturally, I had to buy one, too. It’s only $10.99 – if it lasts a year, I’ll be thrilled! It works great and holds curl better than my expensive Beachwaver ever did.
Old Navy sale: I know, I know. Old Navy has a sale every week! But, they’re currently running a 50% off summer clothing, including swim, tanks, and shorts. I ordered a swimsuit bottom, a dress tank, and three camisoles – which were on sale for $2.97! I know their quality isn’t always great, but, it’s hard for me to pass up a good deal!
Pool Floats: Guys, I am on the novelty pool float train. I ordered this flamingo float from Target, only because the swan float from Amazon said it wouldn’t ship until August! I may try it again, though. The one I really want, however, is the giant unicorn float. Is that an adult purchase? My niece is suddenly scared of the pool, so maybe it would help her get over her fear? Or maybe we’d just fight over it? Either way, it’s summer and I’m ready to play!
Real Crime Profile podcast: I love listening to podcasts while I work and am a sucker for true crime. Cassie mentioned this podcast on Twitter, and color me obsessed. The episodes discuss Making a Murderer and the OJ Simpson trial. It’s hosted by a former FBI profiler and a casting director from the show Criminal Minds. It’s insanely interesting and discusses not only the cases, but the victims, who are often sadly left out of these discussions.
Do I need it? I’m thinking of going on a spending-freeze in June due to my extensive habits lately. So, I have to know: do I need the new BECCA palette? Is it worth the price? I love my Glow Kit, but you know I can’t miss out on a good product!
What are your plans this long weekend? Happy Memorial Day!
