Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I was sick much of last week and took a bit of a break. Can’t believe it’s the beginning of another week!
I love a good makeup palette. Who doesn’t? I’ve tried several with varying luck. Here are my current favorites:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam: there are now three shades of the Glow Kits, but I’m thrilled with Gleam. I always wear sunscreen on my face but love a little bronze glow. There are four shades in the Gleam (and all Glow Kit) palette(s): Hard Candy, Mimosa, Starburst, and Crushed Pearl. I use Mimosa as a bronzer, Starburst and Hard Candy as blush, and Crushed Pearl as a highlight. It’s like three products in one! Crushed Pearl is a gorgeous pink and silver highlight shade. It looks beautiful, even on my fair skin.
Lorac Riesling Romance Palette: sexy name, sexy look. Unfortunately, this exact palette is sold out, but I’ve found the closest alternative. I have never been able to justify a Naked palette because they all include too many wasted shades for this fair-skinned blonde. But I actually have use for each shade in this collection. I love the formula, too – the shadows are creamy and long-lasting!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette: did you know that this is NOT a highlighter? It is actually a finishing powder that helps hide imperfections and softens light, giving you a gorgeous lit-from-within glow. If you’re looking for a super highlight, this isn’t it. I use it sparingly as it’s pricey, but there’s nothing like it.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection: I debated this purchase for a few weeks. After reading reviews, talking to friends, and swatching it in-store, I pulled the trigger. I am not a Jaclyn Hill-devotee, and, honestly, I can’t identify with most YouTube beauty bloggers. I am pale and work in an environment where an overly made-up face would be frowned upon. I think these ladies are great, but it’s not where I am. Anyway. This was a great buy and I particularly love Prosecco Pop and the blush shades. The product is buttery, pigmented, and long-lasting. Look at that glow!
