I can’t believe we’ve completed another month of the Book Challenge!
This month’s book was Tiny Beautiful Things – I’ve never loved a book more. One of the reasons Llinos and I started this challenge was because I only read three books all of last year, even though I’m normally an avid reader. Honestly, I’d rather read a good book than socialize. But last year I stopped making time. Between work and blogging and life I just stopped. I needed encouragement, but vowed to make time for reading this year. And, thankfully, this book reminded me what I love about reading.
I’m not normally a self-help kinda gal – no judgement – just not my thing! But I needed this during a a confusing time. Sometimes a book can move and touch you in a way you didn’t know you needed. Have you ever felt a book? Does that make sense? It’s honest, in-your-face, and not afraid to go there. This ain’t your momma’s self-help book.
When I shared it on Instagram, several people commented that it changed their lives. I get that. I ugly-cried several times throughout reading. And as soon as I finished, I took it to a co-worker who is going through a tough time. It’s one of those books that’s meant to be shared. I highly suggest it. Have you read it? What were your thoughts?
Next month we’re reading a book about female empowerment, and I’ve chosen The Geek Feminist Revolution. Hope you’ll join us!
Don’t forget to check out what Llinos read this month!
