I’ve taken a few weeks off from Tuesday Treat because things have been crazy around here. After we returned from vacation our HVAC stopped working. It was out all week so we stayed in a hotel, and I don’t do well with being displaced, especially after being gone a week. I’m a routine person, you know? By Thursday it was fixed, and then it stopped again Friday. I had about 9873 pumpkin ales to cool myself down. Our air was back Saturday but I woke up to a swollen-shut eye. And as I was finally catching up on all of our laundry that afternoon, a drop of detergent splashed directly into said eye. As if it weren’t already hard to see… Then my shower rod and curtain collapsed on me as I tried flush out the detergent. Oh and I was harassed by a man pretending to be from our local police department. Spoiler: he wasn’t. And PS: as I sit writing this, we realized our air has gone out again. Jesus, take it. #blessed
In the blog world:
There were so many wonderful posts yesterday, distracting me from my eye and the heat surrounding me. Holy cow.
Emily’s post on how waiting sucks hit me hard. I think we’re all waiting for something, right? Have a read.
You know how you try to stay positive when awful things happen? Sheryl tells us it’s okay if we’re not always grateful. Sometimes there’s no silver lining. Things don’t “just happen for a reason.” Let it out, friends.
Listen to Allison and worry about your own happiness. As we like to say around the blog world, “comparison is the thief of joy.”
Jenn unselfishly shared how she takes her own outfit photos for her blog. I don’t have the blog budget to hire a professional photographer every time I need a picture, so I found this post especially helpful.
Links I love:
Get a tissue: this bride was given away at her wedding by the man who received her father’s heart.
Loved this interview with Karina Longworth, the genius behind You Must Remember This. I can’t get enough of this podcast.
After sharing my goals last week, I can use all of the motivation I can get. Can’t wait to implement these tips on staying energized and productive the rest of the year.
So tell me you’re having a better week than I am? What posts/links are you loving?
