Happy Friday and long weekend! Walking out of work like the Leonardo DiCaprio meme today. You know the one.
We had a great date night Wednesday. After living in the hotel last month, we decided to make Wednesday our date nights. We usually don’t have much going on during the week aside from work and like how it breaks things up a bit. We have vowed to not be on the phone replying to emails or checking social media during that time. This week we went to The Main Event in Louisville. The particular location includes bowling, laser tag, arcade games, pool, and more. They also have food and a really great bar with our favorite beers on tap. 🙂 We bowled and played a few other games before calling it a night. Somehow after almost nine years in a relationship, we’ve never bowled together! It was a blast. I haven’t bowled in 15 years or so, and I started the game with two strikes in a row. 😉 It was a much-needed way to close out a tough month. I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun! And I highly suggest making date night a priority.
Check out this pretzel! I could only eat about 1/4, which made me sad.
I took advantage of my Nordstorm note to pick up some MAC products and a fall lipstick. I also took advantage of a 20% off coupon at Ulta to stock up on skincare and two new fall lipsticks! Neutrogena is one of my favorite skincare brands, and Ulta had a buy one, get one 50% off their products last week! I’ll be doing another post on this soon.
J picked me up three pumpkin beers to try! You can keep your pumpkin spice latte. Give me all the pumpkin ales. If you’d like to try a few yourself, check out our pumpkin and fall beer guide post from last year!
I’m doing a no-spend September through the rest of the year (probably). I might do a separate post on this as well, but the idea came from Kristen. I’m not going to be super strict: I will still buy things run out of (toiletries, mascara, foundation, lotion). I’m good on clothes and shoes for the season. We have been discussing buying new living room furniture (if you have suggestions on where to buy NICE leather couches in Kentucky, please let me know!), and we need some new pots and pans. Aside from birthday and holiday gifts, that will be it. Please grant me strength in this journey.
Who else is excited for a long weekend? My butt will be parked in the flamingo… only when I’m not watching college football! We’re going to grill with my parents and swim, then I need to spend the rest of the weekend catching up on cleaning, work, and Narcos. My sister and her husband are staying with us next weekend and the guest room looks like a garbage dump. I have my work cut out for me.
I hope you all have the best long weekend! What are your plans? Go Cats and Roll Tide! 🙂
