September is Bourbon Heritage Month, i.e., the best month of the year. It’s always bourbon month in our house and we’re never without a bottle (or two) of the good stuff. We’re currently on a Bulleit kick (even have a Bulleit print on our wall!), but live within short distance of several distilleries, including Maker’s Mark, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, and more! #blessed
In my opinion, the best way to drink bourbon is neat or on the rocks. Why mask the flavor? But if you can’t handle it my way, here are five bourbon cocktail recipes to celebrate the month:
Kentucky Mule: the perfect cool cocktail to get us through these last few hot weeks of summer.
Hot Toddy: the cure-all beverage for crisp fall evenings.
Apple Cider Bourbon: we make a variation of this by mixing my mom’s wassail and bourbon. You cannot believe how good it makes the house smell when you warm them together!
Are you a bourbon drinker? What’s your favorite cocktail? Have a great weekend!
