If you’re like me, you love reading about what others purchase. I could read 50 posts a day dedicated to that very subject. You know how some kids love watching videos on YouTube of people unwrapping candy or opening eggs? I get that same satisfaction out of “what I bought” posts.
I put my Nordstrom Note to good use by picking up three beauty products:
MAC Veluxe Brow Liner in Dirty Blonde: I wrote last month that I loved my Glossier product and that’s still true. However, this pencil fills in my brows like never before and has great color options for this blonde lady. I imagine it will continue to be a makeup bag staple.
Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Pirate: it’s grown on me. A lot. It’s a beautiful and subtle shade that manages to hydrate my lips. Perfect if you want to wear a red lip without being too bold.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Rock Steady: I think you know how I feel about this. A sexy, in-your-face color.
NYX Lipstick in Siren: still haven’t worn this shade! I think I’ll save it for October.
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream: I love Neutrogena’s skincare products; they’re effective, especially for drugstore items. I always come back to Rapid Wrinkle Repair.
Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Deep Wrinkle serum: waiting to empty out my current serum before I begin using this, but it’s highly-rated and I always have good luck with their anti-aging products.
NYX Lip Liner in Plush Red: I honestly don’t understand why anyone would pay a lot for lip liners when NYX makes such a wonderful inexpensive product. Don’t waste your money on high-end here. Their liners often outlast my lipstick.
Don’t forget to check out my fall lipstick recommendations!
Coty Airspun Translucent Extra Coverage powder: an oldie but a goodie. Maybe you remember your grandmother or mom wearing it? I’d seen this product on several blogs lately and had to try it out for myself. It’s still in the 90s here and I need all the help I can get keeping my makeup in place! I use it to set my makeup and can’t recommend it enough. Apparently you can find this at Walmart as well, but we all know I can’t shop there.
Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant: another beauty item taking over the blog world. Nadine finally convinced me to add this to my cart, though I was worried it wouldn’t be effective. I love the idea of deodorants without all the harmful chemicals, but wondered if it’d be enough? And my underarms are incredibly sensitive – the only thing that doesn’t make them break out is Dove’s dry spray. But. This passed both tests. The air in my car stopped working last week and this saw me through an afternoon of errands on a 95 degree day. And it’s gentle on my sensitive skin. It’s pricier than I’d normally pay for deodorant, but your well-being is worth it.
All of these products were purchased before my spending freeze. Still going (mostly) strong, aside from a few books and odds and ends.
Have you tried any of the above products? Or anything you think I should try? Let me know!
