As much as I love high-end products, I’m a thrifty lady. If I can find a good product at a decent price, I’m sold! I’ve made it a goal to start sharing more about products I use – especially the budget-friendly ones!
ColourPop blush in Cheerio: The ColourPop formula takes some getting used to and this blush is more of a cream than a powder. At first I thought I’d hate it, but the payoff is great and I love how it makes my skin look dewy. This deep cranberry color is probably a shade or two darker than what I should wear on my fair skin, but I’ve been watching a lot of the Real Housewives of New Jersey lately and find their overly-blushed faces endearing.
ColourPop eyeshadow in Acorn: I apply this beige shadow all over my lids because it’s a balanced neutral that’s not too shimmery. Again, the formula is cream-based, but it works for this product. Kerri mentioned it on her blog recently and said it didn’t last for her – it works for me, but I’m sure only because I slather on a layer of Urban Decay’s eye primer first.
Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara: Guys. This product is $2.99. After Hannah mentioned it a few times I finally picked it up to try for myself. I’ve been applying it over my MAC pencil and love how it gives my brows a little “oomph” while keeping them in place all day.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Foundation: I bought a MAC foundation that’s too light for me right now because I’m the asshole who never gets matched and tries to guess my shade online. I needed something inexpensive to get me through the next month and found this on sale at Walgreens. I’ve been wearing it every day and like it a lot! It’s more drying than I’d hoped, but it provides medium-to-full coverage and stays all day.
Real Techniques Miracle Sculpting Sponge: You know I swear by my RT sponge, so when I saw their new product, I had to have it! I use it to blend my concealer and it’s perfect for those hard-to-reach areas like under your eyes and the corner of your nose. I screwed up by scrubbing it with my brush egg (do NOT recommend) but at $5.99, it’s reasonable to pick up another.
NYX Matte Lipstick in Merlot: It should come as no surprise that I had to buy a lipstick with the same name as my favorite wine. As a lover of a bold lip, this shade is almost a neutral for me (it’s more of a light berry than deep red). I’ve worn NYX matte lipsticks in the past and found them drying – not sure if they changed their formula, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the consistency of this particular product.
None of these products were over $13! Tell me: what are your favorite budget-friendly products? Have you tried any of these?
