Happy Monday! I decided to take the day off after our fun-filled weekend, so it’s an especially happy Monday for me.
Friday night I had dinner with Cassie from Sage. We met in Louisville at Garage Bar and it was delicious! I enjoyed getting to know Cassie a bit better – it’s always wonderful to meet other bloggers in person! After dinner J and I met up with a couple of friends before calling it a night.
Saturday we woke up early and headed for Cincinnati. We’re lucky to live close to a few big cities so we can take weekend trips! The weather was perfect – sunny and in the high 50s. I’ve been waiting for this weather all year! We started our day at the Moerlein Lager House. We shared a couple of appetizers and had a beer before venturing out to explore the waterfront.
We walked along the river before heading to the hotel to check in and meet my parents and brother. We got a couple of drinks before dinner at The Montgomery Inn Boathouse. Everyone ordered the ribs – but I opted for a salmon and couscous dish that was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! And it’s hard the beat the views.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel to get some rest (after a bourbon at the hotel bar, of course). We stayed at Renaissance Cincinnati and were not disappointed. I highly recommend it.
Sunday we walked to breakfast and tried to hit a bar before the big game. The area around the stadium was swarming with Bengals and Browns fans, but luckily the weather was perfect and we didn’t mind the extra time outside. We finally made it to our seats where I nearly had a panic attack. No more heights for me. I obviously don’t do well at stadiums! I lasted until halftime before I decided to watch the game from a safer distance. 🙂
My new “seat.”
Because the Bengals were comfortably ahead, we left for Kentucky before the game ended. We got home pretty early and I looked forward to a relaxing evening… until my site decided to go haywire. Four hours later I think it’s working properly again? Is there anything more infuriating than troubleshooting?
Anyway, I’m grateful for a fun and gorgeous weekend, and that my brother got to celebrate his birthday with a Bengals win.
How was your weekend?
Linking up with Biana.
