It took awhile to receive my Sephora VIB Sale goodies, but it was worth the wait! I didn’t go crazy this year, opting instead to purchase practical items and a couple of Christmas gifts.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm: I have to be honest – I have avoided Clinique in my adulthood because I thought it was a juvenile brand. What was the first makeup products you bought when you were in middle school? Clinique! But I’ve seen the error of my ways. After reading reviews, I decided on this product over the It Cosmetics option. I was nervous to try it but have been completely satisfied! I’ll be doing a separate post on this soon, but let’s just say I love it!
Estee’ Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup: After Nadine highly recommended this product, I knew I had to give it a try! No lie – it DOES stay in place all day! It also doesn’t dry out my skin, which is an issue for me this time of year. I think I’m looking for a product that doesn’t exist: I want a foundation that makes my skin look perfect and covers all of my pores. This isn’t exactly it, but it’s close. It’s medium coverage and not heavy or cakey… I’m currently switching between this and a MAC foundation, and the MAC product tends to cake in the corners of my nose. I also love how this doesn’t crease, which is usually an issue for me, especially under my eyes!
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon Rollerball: Pamela mentioned this on her blog and of course I was intrigued! I’m such a Chanel devotee and never experiment with scent, but wanted to mix it up a bit. A lot of reviews say it smells like cheap perfume, but it works well with my chemistry and instead smells warm and inviting. I get more vanilla than bourbon which I prefer since I wear it to work! My one complaint (and some of you won’t think this is a bad thing) is that I don’t smell it after a few hours. I like to smell my perfume. Is that weird? Perhaps it’s because it’s a rollerball? Chanel has lasting power: I can often smell it on my seat belt! Otherwise this is the perfect winter scent.
For my bonus items, I chose the Belif mini set. I recently emptied my Aqua Bomb and was ready for more! It’s the perfect lightweight moisturizer to wear under makeup.
Aside from some Christmas gifts, that’s all I bought! Have you tried these products? What did you buy?
