Maybe this year wasn’t great. You know what was great, though? The makeup.
I’ll always remember 2016 as the year I discovered my favorite products. Truly one of the best memories of a long year. Here’s my favorite makeup from the past twelve months:
Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer: Have worn this every day since I purchased it. It’s easy to blend, lasts all day, and smells like coconut. It’s not too much for this fair-skinned gal which makes me love it even more.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam: I’ve only mentioned this 908723947 times, but if ABH ever stops selling this, I’ll cry. Love all of the shades, especially for us fair-skinned ladies who need a little extra color. And I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more highly-rated product!
Tarte PRO Glow Highlight and Contour Palette: Guys. I MIGHT like this better than the Anastasia kit. I know. It includes four highlighters and two contour shades – one cream and one powder. The contour shade is creamy and easy to blend, and the highlight shades are all stunning. I want to cover my entire body in it. If you don’t want to commit to all six shades (or the price) there’s a mini kit that includes three.
ColourPop blush in Cheerio: I’m weirdly obsessed with this blush. Not sure if it’s the creamy texture or cranberry color, but it’s a new makeup bag staple. The price doesn’t hurt, either.
NARS The Multiple in Copacabana: This all-in-one, multipurpose stick is so good I almost bought it in the Orgasm shade last week. I still might!
Estee’ Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation: My new go-to foundation, especially for this dry time of year.
MAC Prep + Prime lip primer: I do not wear lipstick without this! I noticed Monday that my tube was nearly empty and immediately placed another order. I promise you it’s the best lip primer out there. Lipstick goes on so smooth – even when your lips are dry and flaky. And I only buy it twice a year! It’s well worth the price.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream: As good as everyone claims. Some things are insanely popular for a reason, right? Most days I wear this as a foundation. It’s beautiful on your skin!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: The best concealer for blemishes. It’s thick, provides insane coverage, and doesn’t budge all day.
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer: This concealer is great for covering dark circles and highlighting your features. It is long-wearing, easy to blend, and moisturizing, which is great for the under eye area.
MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set: This brush-on gel tints and shapes brows without being greasy or crunchy (you know what I mean). I’m trying to grow my brows out, and this manages to keep them tame in the in-between stage.
Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion: Another product I wear every single day. Nothing goes on my eyes without it!
No7 Stay Perfect Foundation: A new summertime staple. My foundation stayed put for hours – even on the hottest of days! And you can’t beat the price!
NYX Cosmetics Lip Pencils: I wear one of these pencils with every lipstick. At the price, it won’t bust your budget to have multiple shades!
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Rock Steady: The sexiest night-out shade. If you love a bold lip, add this to your arsenal!
Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Pirate: Glides on beautifully and doesn’t dry out lips.
NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Merlot: Velvety shade named after my favorite wine. The perfect subtle, everyday color!
MAC Lipstick in Girl About Town: The iconic pink shade. Beautiful year-round.
Sorry for the exhaustive list. Luckily I didn’t add skincare – I’ll be sharing those favorites next week!
Now it’s your turn: what were your favorite products this year? Let me know!
