Following up last Wednesday’s makeup favorites post with my favorite skincare from 2016. I actually take great care of my skin – I never go to bed without washing my face, wear sunscreen, and moisturize twice a day. I have an obsessive routine, but hoping I’ll be grateful for all that time and attention one day. And honestly, it’s never looked better! My current routine and chosen products seem to be working.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm: already discussed this a few times, you know I love it! My skin is NOT dry right now, and I credit not using traditional cleanser.
Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil: I’ve also discussed this a few times, but, if you need a little luxury, pick up a bottle. I’ve had it for months and barely made a dent! This product does it all: brightens, provides antioxidants, improves skin tone, and fights aging. And there’s real rose petals in it!
Belif Moisturizing Aqua Bomb: This moisturizer is great for wearing under your makeup because it’s light but still hydrating. I went through a bottle of it quickly this summer!
Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream: I put this on every morning. It wakes you up and moisturizes the sensitive under eye area.
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream: Worn at night, it does an amazing job of smoothing fine lines! I swear by this, and you can’t beat the price!
Pixi Glow Tonic: There’s a reason this toner is so popular – it’s amazing! I apply it morning and again at night. It doesn’t dry you out (it’s alcohol free) and leaves your skin flawless. I’m about to purchase another bottle.
Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Body Lotion: This lotion is expensive – I’m sure it makes me seem like an asshole to even mention it. But. I’m a body lotion fanatic. I apply it all over as soon as I get out of the shower and apply it to my hands throughout the day. My skin has been insanely dry this fall and winter and nothing would control my itching. After lots of research, I decided to give this a try – I’m so glad I did! It ain’t cheap but it’s been a miracle worker for me.
Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar: Currently slathering my face and neck with this lotion every night. The formula is hydrating but not greasy, and is a winter skin-saver.
Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash: I only exfoliate a couple of times a week, but when I do, it’s with this gentle cleanser. Worth the price, especially since it will last you a long time.
