Happy Friday, everyone! This was my first full week back to work since before Christmas… and it certainly felt that way. Thank you all again for the blog love this week. It’s not easy to be vulnerable and put yourself out there, so I especially appreciate the kind words.
I feel like a good “what I’ve been loving lately” post is in order after the craziness of this week. I can only write and read about what’s going on in the world for so long – today it’s time to talk the fun stuff.
Before I begin, I’m the featured blogger on today’s H54F linkup! Check it out! And if you’re not linking up with those fun gals already, make sure to add them to your Friday list.
I have always been super cheap (like Walmart cheap) when it comes to brushes; never saw the point in buying a decent one. My hair is fine and tangles easily, especially this time of year, and I read boar bristle brushes would help with detangling. I ordered two sets of brushes on Amazon: a two-pack boar bristle brush set, and a Wet Brush set. I am obsessed. Who knew you didn’t have to tug your hair so much while you were brushing it? I’ve had a lot of compliments on my hair this week and the only difference is the brushes. Best of all, I bought all four brushes for about $30! I’ll never go back.
What took me so long to try the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer? This is a new makeup bag staple.
I’ve sworn by the Clinique Take The Day Away Balm lately but I sometimes need a deeper clean. I’ve had my eye on the Foreo forever but was afraid I wouldn’t like it. Thursday I found an Ulta gift card from Christmas in my purse, and, when they were out of the Too Faced Chocolate Chip palette, I decided to pick up a Foreo LUNA Play. If I like this I’ll splurge for the big one, but so far I’m loving the mini!
I’m not a jeans person – I am too bottom-heavy to get them to work right for me – but have always loved the way people style them. Everyone talks highly of the Old Navy Rockstar jeans, so when I realized they made Rockstar jeggings, I immediately added them to my cart. The jeggings have the look and feel of jeans but with added comfort. They run true to size – I made the mistake of sizing up two sizes (as I do with jeans, holy big butt) when I ordered online and had to exchange them. I can’t wait to accessorize them this spring!
A couple of my coworkers and I walk during breaks at work and we all keep athletic shoes at our desk so we don’t have to exercise in our heels. One of my coworkers picked up the cutest pair of slip-ons and I thought they’d be perfect to leave under my desk all week. Now, Walmart is not a place I normally shop. It’s a last resort – the place I go if I can’t find what I need on Prime. But these Danskin Memory Foam Slip-On shoes are so cute, convenient, and comfortable that I finally ordered a pair online (I can’t step in the store, sorry!). Best of all? They’re only $12! I’ve been bringing them home and wearing them on weekends, and wore them while we were in Florida. They’re the comfiest shoes I’ve ever owned and I’ve received a ton of compliments. People are shocked when I tell them they’re $12 shoes from Walmart!
What are you loving lately? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
