The only thing that goes by faster than a weekend is a three-day weekend. Am I right? Linking up with Biana today.
We spent Friday running errands in Louisville. I got allergy shots, we picked up some muffins for Easter morning, and I finished getting treats for my parents and niece’s Easter baskets. I also stocked up on cheap Trader Joe’s wine. The best. The weather was gorgeous so we managed some patio time before heading home.
We woke up early Saturday to head to my hometown. My mom made a delicious brunch for us, including mimosas! It was another beautiful (and super warm!) spring day, so we spent hours outside. The Easter Bunny dropped a basket off for my niece at our house and included a wiffle ball set. She is a great athlete and had a blast learning how to hit the ball. She picked up on it quickly and said, “I knew I’d get the hang of it!” I was unfortunately sick for most of the day (allergies are killing me…) but we still managed to drink a few beers and have a good time! We played several games of cornhole and all got a little too much sun!
Sunday was not only Easter, it was also my niece’s fourth birthday! She woke up wondering why she wasn’t any taller – I always want to remember the sweet things she says! The Easter Bunny was very good to her this year, too. We attended church with my family, then went to my grandparents’ so my niece and cousins could hunt for Easter eggs. Of course it started pouring around this time… trying to wrangle five kids under the age of 7 while waiting for the rain to pass was a lot of fun! It finally cleared up enough for them to head outside and they had a blast. Kids make things interesting, don’t they?
We ended the day with a delicious dinner cooked by my mom and grandma. We had to head back a little early due to the weather but had a wonderful weekend celebrating with family.
I’m in for a busy week and need to cut out all the junk – I indulged way too much for the holiday!
How was your Easter weekend? Here’s to a great week!
