I know you’re all tired of hearing about the #NSale now, and frankly, so am I. But. I bought the majority of my fall wardrobe during last year’s sale, and did the same this year. And I did it on a budget. You might be surprised to find that many of the items are under $40! Here are my favorites:
Lush Roll Tab Sleeve Woven Shirt: Everyone loves these and they still have several colors available. I ordered the Cordovan shade in an XL because I like them oversized – makes it easier to wear with leggings.
BP. Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan: BP is one of my favorite Nordstrom brands – it’s affordable and the quality is comparable to higher-end brands. Ordered this in two shades: Burgundy Stem and Black. I purchased these in Large; they advise you size down, but I still like my cardigans loose (for layering purposes and to fit over my butt and hips).
BP. Pocket Tee: People let me tell ya ’bout my best friend! I bought a couple of these shirts during last year’s sale (though they lacked the pocket) and they were my most-worn items. I layered them under cardigans and vests and they held up great. This year I bought the olive and gray striped versions. Ordered in Large.
Caslon Tie Knot Sweatshirt: Another brand I swear by is Caslon. I love how this “fancier” version of a sweatshirt can be worn on casual Fridays or the weekend. I struggle with casual-wear because most of my clothing budget goes towards dressy clothes for work. Ordered in gray in a Large.
BP. Essential Leggings: Guys, these are under $12! Such a steal! I sized up on these because I ordered a pair of pleather leggings last year from BP that were super tight – not sure if it was the material, but didn’t want to take any chances. Ordered in XXL. I also ordered a few other versions of leggings since all of mine are going to have to be replaced this year (I keep things forever!): the Hue Pima Cotton Blend leggings ($22, XL) and the Nordstrom Moto Cotton Blend Leggings ($29.90, XL).
Bonus: I didn’t buy it (there’s still time!), but this MAC Look in a Box Call me Love Lip Kit is amazing. It includes the lipstick primer I wear every day, a liner, and liquid lipstick. The primer itself is $18, so you’re essentially getting one product free.
Sadly I bought more, but I’ll share everything once it arrives.
I saw a Tweet asking for curvy girls to share what they bought during the sale, so I wanted to put my two cents in. If I have enough to drink one night, I will take some pictures wearing the clothes so you can get more of an idea regarding fit. For reference: I can wear anywhere between a 12-18 in bottoms (seriously – depends on the brand). I am very bottom-heavy and have a 36DD bust, so I can wear a M-XL in tops.
Did you buy anything during the big sale? If not, do you plan to? I hope you have a great weekend!
