I say this every month, but the year is flying by! Can you believe it’s already November?
I managed to make it to my hometown in time to watch my niece trick-or-treat on Tuesday. Worth it! She went as Pocahontas and ate way too many sweets. By the time we left, she was running around in circles screaming “follow the light!” Kids are amazing.
My parents put their fire pit in the driveway, posted chairs around it, and handed out candy with drinks in their hands. Goals for next year!
Still cleaning up from our Halloween party last weekend. I’m struggling to put away the fun decor!
We are seeing Guns n Roses again Friday night! We saw them last summer in Nashville but they’re playing at the Yum Center in Louisville and we knew we had to go, considering they’re close to home. I hope it’s another great show.
I usually put my Christmas décor up a couple of days before Thanksgiving because we travel during that time. But I think I’m going to do it earlier this year. I hear those of you who like to wait, but, damn, I need it. This has been such a shitty few months and spreading a little joy never hurt anyone. Watch Home Alone or the Hallmark Channel, put on the holiday Pandora station, and chill. There’s too much going on in the world to get upset over celebrating the holidays a little longer.
Finally started listening to the Dirty John podcast. I’m hooked already! I’ve also been into Lore (late to the game on that one, I know), especially during Halloween season. I found the Dirty John story online and read part of it, but I think I want to finish the podcast before I read the entire article. If you’ve listened, what are your thoughts?
I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t been doing a lot of reading lately, but I plan to change that this fall/winter! I have added Turtles All the Way Down to my Amazon cart. Any other recommendations? I need some light reading!
For the past couple of months, my eating has been terrible. Dinners are usually okay (though we’re in the midst of comfort food season) but my lunches are garbage. Most days I am busy and don’t take lunch, so I try to keep protein shakes are bars in my desk… but then I’m starving and snack on chips or other junk food. I don’t like to depend on this, but I found some healthier frozen meals at Kroger this week that I’m going to keep in the freezer when I’m in a pinch. Ideally I’d like to start prepping my meals again. Do you have any tasty and filling lunch recipes you’d care to share? I admit I’ll find it difficult to pass on the delicious treats (hello, cider and baked goods!) that pop up this time of year so my meals need to be as healthy as possible.
And since I will be partaking in all the delicious holiday treats, I am going to attempt to complete this burpee challenge. The challenge is 50 burpees a day for 30 days – seems overwhelming and doable at the same time. I’ve managed to work out consistently but a little extra exercise never hurt. Right?
I’m behind on blog comments which is rare for me! I usually try to catch up on Sunday and I spent that entire day lounging this week. Sometimes a break is good for the soul. Thank you for all who always take time to comment!
What’s new with you?
