I saw a few people writing “year in review” posts, and I thought it’d be fun to look back on these one day. Honestly 2017 was a challenging year. Between work and life and bills and water heaters and sickness, it seemed like it was one thing after the other. But that’s life, right? The past few years have had their ups and downs – stuff I don’t always talk about in this space. But I find it important to reflect on the good times and to practice gratitude. For all the bad there was SO.MUCH.GOODNESS.
Here are some of my favorite moments and posts throughout the year:
We started the year with a long weekend in Hollywood Beach. It was a fun trip! I also shared my most-read post to date – a vow to not be afraid of speaking out against the current administration. I stand by that statement!
We celebrated Easter and my niece’s 4th birthday (where does the time go!). I joined Sheryl for her wonderful Walk and Talk Life Coaching session – she’s such a talented lady! And I wrote a post regarding jealousy and the fact that there’s room for us all to succeed.
Such a fun and busy month! We spent a weekend in my hometown attending the Court Days festival and threw our first Halloween party! Because I try to maintain a budget, I broke down my favorite drugstore beauty products.
Another busy and fun month! We started by seeing Guns n Roses in concert for the second time. I discussed why no one can really “have it all” and shared the products I can’t live without. And I posted about the string of recent sexual assault claims and how we can use our voices to empower others.
Can’t believe the year is coming to an end! On my mom’s birthday, I shared the amazing beauty tricks she’s taught me throughout the years. We had our annual Christmas date to see a production of A Christmas Carol and have spent as much time with family as possible. And, in case you missed Wednesday’s posts, I aired my grievances for 2017. Papa John is still on my shit list.
Thanks for reading this self-indulgent post! I feel uncomfortable with self-promotion (great for others, not so much for me) but these were my favorite moments and posts from the year. I started this space as a creative outlet and online diary and want to continue with those goals into 2018.
Thank you, as always, for reading what I have to say – even when you don’t agree!
We’ll be spending the weekend in my hometown then leave bright and early Tuesday morning for a trip to Hilton Head to visit my sister. I do have a couple of posts scheduled for next week, but will otherwise be unplugged. Enjoy the holidays and hug your loved ones, friends! Merry Christmas!
