We’re nearly two weeks into 2018 and I’m just sharing this. Procrastination was not on my list of things to work on this year!
One of my goals for 2018 is to spend less. It’s so hard for a beauty addict like me! However, I’ve built an arsenal of products. 2017 was the year to discover what did and didn’t work for me, and I think I’ve finally found some skincare products that help instead of hurt!

Garnier Micellar Water: I use this every night to remove my eye makeup. It’s been well-documented that I have trouble with my eyes, but this remover never irritates. I used to primarily use makeup remover wipes, but I felt like I had to scrub too harshly – I simply soak a cotton ball with the micellar water, stick it on my eye for a few seconds, and wipe away my makeup! A bottle lasts me several months.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel: Currently on my third container of this moisturizer! I love it and think it’s great for every skin type. My skin is oily in the summer and dry in winter, but it’s been effective each time. I apply it in the morning before makeup.
Avene RetrinAL Intensive Cream: Expensive but so worth it. Once you reach a certain age, good anti-wrinkle products become part of your budget, right? My skin instantly looks and feels better after I apply it.
Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer: This was an impulse buy during the Sephora sale, but I love it! I don’t use it every night, but I have been reaching for it more and more since the temperatures plummeted.
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm: I was using this nightly until I found a cleansing oil I liked just as much. I am almost out of the product, but LOVE it for travel! It removes your makeup effortlessly and its non-messy container makes it great for travel.
No7 Cleansing Oil: I worried that cleansing oil would clog my pores, but I’ve had less breakouts than ever while using this. My skin gets drier as I get older and the harsh cleansers weren’t cutting it anymore!
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Concentrate: Softens the eye area and smells so good!
MAC Prep + Prime Lip: I love you forever, I like you for always, as long as you’re living, my baby you’ll be. This is my holy grail lip product and I NEVER put on lipstick without it. I always carry one in my purse and leave one in my bathroom. If MAC stopped making this I’d stock up like Elaine with her sponges.
Estee’ Lauder Double Wear Foundation: As good as everyone says it is!
Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation: My every day foundation. I finished the bottle last week and I’m about to order another! It’s lightweight but looks gorgeous on skin.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil: Okay, I do not have good brows. Let’s get that out of the way first! They’re sparse from over-plucking and waxing when I was younger. I’m trying to let them grow but it’s tough. I LOVE this pencil and it is completely goof proof! It finally gives my brows a bit of life.
MAC Veluxe Brow Liner: Because people with bad brows can never have enough brow products, am I right?
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: I currently have 9798734 concealers, but this is my go-to. I’ve tried Tarte, Lancome, BareMinerals, etc. I especially love it for covering blemishes! It is pricey but lasts forever!
HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Palette: I don’t want to love this (because of the price). BUT I DO. I wear it every day – it gives my face the prettiest glow that I’ve never been able to achieve from another product.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: Another product I didn’t want to love because it’s so pricey. But I do love it. It’s worth all the hype.
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Rita: Every single time I wear it, someone asks me what it is. The prettiest red and it has great staying power with a satin-like finish.
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Gazpacho: A beautiful true-blue red. Matte without being drying.
NYX Pin-Up Pout Lipstick in Bombshell: My favorite lipstick of 2017. I wear this all the time, and have put it in giveaways, given it as gifts, etc. It’s the best, especially for the price!
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Secret Salma: The perfect neutral lip!
Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish: This doesn’t last as long as a professional gel manicure, but it also doesn’t destroy your nails! It has such a pretty finish. I love Rock the Runway – it’s the perfect red that can be worn year-round! In fact, I’m currently wearing it! Top Coat: Buy this, too! Helps it last longer and provides shine.
I know this is a lot, so thanks for reading and bearing with me! I may do a post next week about my favorite shoes, accessories, and miscellaneous products from last year, but many of the products I loved are sold out!
