We made it to Friday! I dreaded going back to work after my long holiday break, but it actually went by pretty quickly. Thankful to be busy, especially when it was so cold here (as it is everywhere). I’m so glad the snow storm waited until we left Hilton Head – funny that my sister had to leave Kentucky to get snow!
I’m happy to be back in a routine and look forward to being on a regular blogging schedule again. I love reading Friday Favorites posts, and hope you do, too!

The only thing I asked for for Christmas was a new coffee maker. Our Keurig had a good run, but it’s on its last leg and I needed a better cup of coffee. My mom came through with a Ninja Coffee Bar and I’m already obsessed! It makes delicious and strong coffee and it’s easy to use. Looking forward to brewing up a cup of bourbon coffee this weekend. 🙂
I ordered a few things for myself at the end of the year – before I decided I needed to eliminate unnecessary spending.
I live for a good black tunic. I love bright colors but I gravitate towards black and gray, especially this time of year. I purchased this Halogen Ruffle Tunic Sweater and wore it Christmas Eve (and a couple of times since, oops!). It’s lightweight and soft. If you’re between sizes, I’d definitely size down! I ordered an XL because I like my tunics to be over-sized (so they can fit over my butt!), but this is too big. I still wear it but consider that if you decide to order! This is higher than I normally pay for sweaters, but I thought it was a classic piece I could keep forever.
I ordered another of my favorite BP long-sleeve tees, this time in the green! These are a closet staple, and they’re only $19! I wear these all the time: they’re great for layering or wearing alone!
I went back and forth on this sweatshirt dress several times before ordering. It’s not necessarily my style and I haven’t quite embraced the cold shoulder trend! I did order it and wore it out to brunch and dinner on New Year’s Eve (hello, embellishments!)… and received so many compliments! This is definitely too short to be a dress on me, but it would work perfectly for others! I paired it with leggings and boots and it worked fine. It should transition nicely into spring!
I found the coziest sweatshirt tunic with bell sleeves, too. Unfortunately it’s sold out at Nordstrom, but looks like Nordstrom Rack has it in plus size (on sale, too)! It’s one of my favorite purchases ever, and perfect for the frigid temperatures. Y’all know I live for a fancy sweatshirt!
I have some gift cards to use, but otherwise won’t be buying much in the next few months. Thankfully I have plenty of clothes to get me through this long winter!
How was your week? Hopefully it wasn’t too bad to get back to the grind after the holidays!
Have a great weekend!
